The greatest show on earth was said to be P.T. Barnum's and Bailey's circus. Now, picture a darker kind of circus filled with heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal, hardcore punk, alternative metal, rapcore, and goth metal bands. Throw Black Sabbath into the mix, shake up the jar, and we can now welcome you to the hardest, darkest show on earth, the Ozzfest!
Starting back in 1996 when Ozzy Osbourne was shunned from Lollapalooza, the Ozzfest concert rose out of the shadows and a new era of darkness would reign o'er the land. Soon to be a touring event, Ozzfest would take on the likes of Danzig, Sepultura, Fear Factory, Marilyn Manson, Neurosis, Powerman 5000, Slipknot, Tool, Velvet Revolver, Static-X, and the list goes on. This festival is full of bands that can play something other than 4/4 timing and has everything you need for that solid "Punch your friend in the Face" energy… Not that we encourage that sort of thing.
Ozzfest may not have the 10 stages that shows like Van's Warped Tour would see, but who really wants to have to choose between 3 great bands? Usually second stages are reserved for different kinds of music or lesser quality bands, but leave it to the Ozzfest to put artists like Lamb of God, Atreyu, Slipknot, and even Rob Zombie on their second stage to force you into making really difficult decisions at the rock fest.
