I'm curious to see who here has traveled the farthest distance to get to a festival they, or someone they were with, wanted to see. I was trying to remember what the farthest distance away from home I have traveled for the music and unfortunately I am coming up short. 120 miles to the Y100 FEASTival back in 2000 to see Stroke 9, Moby, Oasis, Beck, and the Foo Fighters, rock the house.
Ok, post them if you got 'em. What's the farthest you've traveled to see a show and which show was it? Any great memories?
I remember Oasis storming off the stage after a 4-set show because the lead singer took a paper cup to the chest (Think McDonald's carry-out). Then the Foo FIghters played the stage, rocked out, someone tried the same thing with throwing stuff, and they stopped the show after that song. David Grohl said to the crowd something along the lines of, "Who throws drinks at the bands they paid to see? Are there middle school kids in this crowd? Well, this is a more mature crowd. You should save that energy for the mosh pit. Welcome to your first concert." Then they rocked out.
